Sea Day #1

One thing we like about this itinerary is that port days and sea days alternate.  No back-to-back port days!

We have been blessed with smooth sailing - literally.  The seas are quite smooth with only a small swell that the ship easily handles. Our biggest complaint is the temperature.  For those of you sweltering in the Midwest,  my apologies.   Our daily high temperatures have been in the upper 60's and low 70's.  Today we needed long sleeves and a coat to be out on deck or enjoying our balcony.  It looks like things will warm up a lot once we get to Boston.  But enough about the weather.

After a time change last night we slept in a bit, then headed to breakfast for omelets. Sudoku was next and I came in 2nd, finishing the puzzle in just over 3 minutes, but one lady finished in 2:35. She's a regular, so winning Sudoku might be tough this cruise.  I also participated in the Passengers vs Crew Bean Bag toss, but did not qualify for the second round 8-(.   But after lunch, I played Carpet Bowling and came in 1st place!  Now we have a wine stopper for the bottle of Merlot we received at the start of the cruise.

This was our first formal night so we did wear our fancier clothes to dinner.  Mary had a steak while I had chicken fettuccine alfredo.  When our desserts were served, the waiter also brought this extra cookie plate.   We each ate two, then gave up.

After dinner was the production show "Blame it on the  Boogie " which featured disco songs from the late 70's.  Not our most favorite music, but still a very good show.

When we got back to our room, the sun was going down and Mary got a good sunset photo.

Tomorrow is Halifax, Canada where we have an afternoon excursion on a schooner.
