For those of you wondering where we are going, here's a picture of our itinerary. It's actually two 16 day cruises, the first from Santiago (San Antonio) Chile to Buenos Aires Argentina, and the second is a repositioning from Buenos Aires to Fort Lauderdale. Passengers on earlier sailings between San Antonio and Buenos Aires reported being able to see Antarctica so we are hoping weather conditions permit our captain to try that as well when we do scenic cruising of the Strait of Magellan.
Our car came to the hotel early to drive us the 1 1/2 trip to San Antonio, so we arrived at the ship at 11:45, with hundreds of people already there to check in. We did have to fill out a health questionnaire, but that was the extent of the additional screening. We were in our room in less than an hour after arriving at the ship.
We enjoyed the buffet lunch, which is at the front of this ship, rather than the back. It was not crowded at all when we got there as you can see by this picture of the dessert area.
After eating we walked around the ship, learning what was where, since we have not been on this class of ship since our very first cruise in 2005.
Supper included the traditional Pina Colada chilled soup, which we both enjoyed. Mary's main course was salmon while I enjoyed prime rib. YUM! It sure is great to be enjoying these wonderful Princess dinners again!
After that, we took a very short walk outside on the Promenade deck (walkway the goes around the ship) before returning to our room where Mary caught this sunset picture.
We had some surprise news today - our niece had a baby boy via emergency c-section. She named him David after her deceased father. Mother and baby are doing fine, and we are happy to have a new great-nephew.
Tomorrow is a sea day as we head towards Puerto Montt, Chile.

Congratulations on your new great nephew! I'm sure you will be eager to see him when you get home.
Hope you have a wonderful cruise! I was on the Coral Princess when I went to Alaska, my very first cruise.
I'll be following along as you take this long journey.
Enjoy! Hope you get piña colada soup again.
