It's Not Chilly in Chile

We had a long travel day, starting on the afternoon of March 3 and arriving in Santiago, Chile on the morning of the 4th after a layover in Dallas. Neither of us slept well on the plane but the larger seats, and more leg room (plus free beer!) in Premium Economy sure helped catch a few hours of sleep. Mary captured this picture of our flight from Dallas on the plane's screen.

She also captured these scenes of the mountains as we approached Santiago.  Very rugged territory.

This leg was on a Boeing 787,  what a nice plane!  Since it is carbon fiber, they can keep the humidly higher and run a a bit lower effective altitude (most planes keep air pressure at 8000') so the ride was quite comfortable.  No more window shades since you have a touch control for 5 levels of shading from clear to tinted.

Once we arrived and resolved an issue with our car service, we made it to the Holiday Inn Express and settled in for a nap.  We then changed into shorts due to the 90 degree weather here and headed to a Hard Rock Cafe for dinner.  We were a bit concerned about food choices in a foreign country, but a burger, fries and a beer felt like home.

Tomorrow we have a car coming to take us to the Coral Princess to start our 32-day cruise.  Feel free to follow along by watching the Bridge cam.

....and you’re off again! Wow, 32 days! I think you both just need to work for the cruise line!
I’ll be following along. 😊
