Color Tour Day 2

Today we drove from Gaylord to Muskegon with a lunch stop at Ludington.

We took some side roads out of Gaylord, and the colors were absolutely beautiful.  We definitely hit the peak colors for this area.  Everywhere you looked had beautiful colors -  red, yellow, and orange with some green evergreens mixed in.  Many of the scenes cannot be captured in a photograph, but Mary did her best.  She could have taken a dozen more like these!  I just love the top right picture which  shows what we saw while driving.   As you can see, the colors were vibrant and vivid.
Once we got onto the main highways, the scenes were nice, but not as dramatic.

Ludington is a town located on Lake Michigan, with beautiful sandy beaches.  We visited often in our earlier years, but had not been here since 2016.  My parents lived here back in 1940 and I introduced Mary to it early in our marriage.  It was very nice to see it again, We had lunch at a favorite place, the House of Flavors. Afterwards, we walked out on the beach toward the lighthouse.  As you can see it was a sunny day, but the strong wind made us glad we had bundled up.

Tomorrow we have a 3 hour drive home.  Adios and I hope you enjoyed our pictures!
