Today started off quietly, waking with no alarm clock for a change. After breakfast we only had to pack, check out, and be ready for the 10:45 bus to the train station. We we very surprised that on the way to the train station a moose was grazing right by the road. What a great photo opportunity!
As we checked in at the train station, I noticed that we could upgrade for a reasonable fee to
GoldStar service , where you have a seat on the upper floor of a dome-topped double decker car! I jumped at the chance and we enjoyed the excellent service. Talk about feeling superior!
Our train ride today was the same route as yesterday's, only southbound. But today the Mt McKinley (Denali) viewing kept improving with each opportunity. Mary got this great photo of it, nearly clear of clouds. We arrived back in Anchorage just after 8:00 pm. Since we enjoyed two excellent meals on the train (thanks to GoldStar service!) there was no need to do anything except head to our hotel and get ready for tomorrow when we plan to spend some time seeing Anchorage before catching our bus to Seward.
