Welcome Back to Michigan

Well, we made it home.  Back to the c-c-cold, but at last it's not as cold as it was while we were gone! It did get above freezing for a few hours on Saturday.
And the snow?  Well we got LOTS of it while we were away.  In fact the piles by our driveway are higher now than they were in early January.  The pile on the left of our driveway is almost as tall as I am! I guess I should have parked the Honda next to is to show it's size.
I spent today trying to find snow-melt to attack the 1" of ice covering. But all area stores were sold out.  I finally found a bag of rock salt at Kroger.  So I spread that out on the key areas and was able to get the ice mostly off before sundown.  Now for one sunny afternoon to finish off those areas.
The bad news is another major storm is coming across Indiana and Ohio on Tuesday and Wednesday.  As long as it stays south of us we'll get missed (sorry, Katie!) or maybe 1". But if it tracks farther north we could get up to 6 or 7" more snow. At least my snowblower can throw it on those tall piles as opposed to clearing the driveway by hand as I did after the plow came through this morning.

Right now forecasters are saying 5-9" more snow here, Tues night into Wed morning. We got 4-5" Sat night after forecasters said less than 1", so who knows!
